William Paul Rudd, 94 of Lawson, MO, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Liberty Hospital. Paul was born on October 18, 1916 in Excelsior Springs, MO, the son of George Perry and Visa Jane (Thompson) Rudd.
On January 1, 1942 in Kansas City, MO he was united in marriage to Ruth Louise (Atkins) Rudd.
Two daughters, Paula Louise and Myrna Rae blessed this union.
Paul was a farmer, working other jobs also, such as Peppard Seed Co., Nazarene Publishing House, Lake City Arsenol, Standard Steel, and Avsco Plastics.
He served 3 1/2 years in the military during World War II in the CBI region.
He was a faithful member of the Canaan Hill Church of the Nazaene.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Joseph Howard, James J. and Thomas Melvin, and one sister Bessie Jane, one niece Linda Walker and one grandson Aaron Glaser.
Surviving are his wife Ruth of the home; daughters and sons-in-law Paula and Robert Hampton; and Myrna and Tom Glaser; sister Ruth Piburn of Excelsior Springs, MO; brother Albert P. Rudd of Belton, MO; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law; great-grandchildren; five nephews; two nieces, nine great-nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday at the Polley Funeral Home, Lawson, MO. Funeral services will be July 16, 2011 at Canaan Hill Church of the Nazarene, Lawson, MO. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, Lawson, MO. Arrangements are through Polley Funeral Home, Lawson MO.
