Irene F. Petzold, 95, of Sun City, Arizona, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Surprise, Arizona.
Irene was born in Brush, Colorado on May 31, 1913, to Howard and Tessie Irene (Kimsey) Frye. She graduated high school in Lyman, Nebraska and attended Colorado University in Boulder.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ralph Petzold, Sr. She had one brother, Howard Frye, who died in 1949. She had two children a daughter, Joni Kaye, and one son, Ralph Jr.
She was a Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, Sun Flower Chapter in Mitchell. After raising her children in Scottsbluff, Nebraska they moved to Pomona, California, Las Vegas, Nevada and finally Sun City West, Arizona. She was the bookkeeper for their machine shop business in Gering. Later she was the secretary at Pilgrim Place in Claremont, California, a retirement community for Missionaries. She last resided at the Sienna Point Adult Care Group Home. She will be deeply missed by her children, friends and relatives.
