Mattie Jane "Jennie" Marshall was the daughter of James Thomas Crawford Marshall and Eliza Jane Curry. She and her brother James Crawford Marshall farmed in Carthage Township, Hancock County, Illinois. Neither married. They were known for their kindness to others, including their niece Viola Maude (Myers) Boston who lived with them for a number of years when she was a preteen/teenager.
