Eleanor received an A.B. from Tufts College and a Ph D from the University of Cincinnati. She was a Professor of Philosophy and Psychology at Robert College and the American College in Istanbul, Turkey. She was a newspaper reporter in Turkey in 1936. When she returned to the United States she became a lecturer on Turkish affairs. She was also the author of "The New Turks," published by the University of PA. Press.
