Amos R. Moffett, 74, of 2201 E. Adams St. died at 11:05 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Hospital.
A life long resident of Springfield, Mr. Moffett was the son of Ward and Margaret Benscoter Moffett. [editor note: according to Researcher, his mother was Sara Margaret [Barngrover] Moffett.]
He married Mardel Lee in 1936.
For 32 years, he was a driver for the Mass Transit Transportation Co., retiring n 1976.
Mr. Moffett was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are his wife, Mardel; one daughter, Mrs. William (Shirley) Fahs of Decatur; three grandchildren; and one nephew.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Horton and Rev. Kevin Sandein officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
