Bessie Ellen Richardson
At her request, no service will be held for Bessie Ellen "Bess" Richardson, who died of a stroke April 8, 1999, at age 84.
Mrs. Richardson was born Sept. 9, 1904, in Galena, Kan., and moved to Oregon City as a child. Her maiden name was Davis. She lived in North Bend from the early 1920s until moving in the early 1960s to Portland, where she was a housekeeping supervisor for Good Samaritan Hospital until 1969 and for the downtown Ramada Inn until 1976. In 1920, she married Everett V.; he died in 1967.
Survivors include her sons, Richard of Portland and Everett Jr. of North Bend; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Private interment will be in Riverview Abbey Mausoleum. The family suggests remembrances to Friendly House Senior Service Center. Arrangements are by Riverview Abbey Funeral Home.
