"Chapin Leonard, a lifelong and much respected citizen of Glover, died at his home Sunday, August 8th at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife and eldest son Willard. Mr. Leonard has been town treasurer of Glover for 35 years and has held the position of town clerk for 32 years. He was a man of strict integrity, charitable, genial and kind towards his fellow man. All his life he has lived on the old home farm on which he was born and where he will be greatly missed as he also will in the community." [Orleans County Monitor, 11 August 1915]
