Elijah Bowman, son of Cornelius Bowman and his wife Susannah Painter Bowman (note she was not an Abbott per historian Arch Bowman)

Elijah Bowman married Elizabeth Gentry on Nov 4, 1795 in Madison County, Kentucky. Her parents Nicholas Gentry and Sarah Dickens Gentry gave permission.

Elijah Bowman was enumerated in the 1840 Owsley County, KY census and died circa 1843 because Elijah Bowman was listed in the 1841, 1842, and 1843 Clay County, Kentucky tax lists with his land on the south fork of the Kentucky River. In 1844 Owsley County, KY taxlist records Nicholas Bowman administrator of E Bowman, deceased with land on South Fork of the Kentucky River. The 500 acres is crossed out on the entry.
