James Ronald Phillips, age 75 of Kenton, passed away at 1:43 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at his residence. He was born on October 12, 1940 in Alphoretta, Kentucky to the late James Earl and Pauline (VanHoose) Phillips. James is survived by his son, James Keith Phillips and his daughter, Hollie (Bryan) Crabtree, both of Kenton; brother Billy R. (Johnna) Phillips of Camden, TN; sisters Nancy (Jerry) Moore and Debra Phillips both of Kenton, and grandson, Bryan Crabtree, Jr. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Patricia Ann Allen, Connie Gross and Bonnie Boyd. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. James retired after working for 39 years for Whirlpool Corp. He attended the House of Prayer Pentecostal Church of God. His favorite past times were eating out and traveling. Funeral services for James Ronald Phillips will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Don Holbrook officiating. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service (11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.) Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Preston Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the AMVETS Post 1994 Honor Guard. The family asks that everyone attending the service dress causal.
