Laura Belle Sampson 84, of DeKalb, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Mosaic Life care hospital in Saint Joseph, MO. She was born August 21, 1931 in Dekalb, MO, daughter of Iva and Thomas "Rube" Frakes. She graduated from DeKalb High School then married Harold Sampson on April 9, 1950, she was a farmwife and homemaker where they made their home in the former Sampson One Room school house. She enjoyed the Royals, her many cats, but most especially the loves of her life, her three great grandchildren. She was very devoted to the DeKalb Christian Church, teaching Sunday School, and was a member of the Ladies Service Group at the church, serving many dinners, and taking care of the church. Laura Belle was preceded in death by husband, Harold, her parents, four brothers, Tilford, Harold, Calvin, and Robert Neil Frakes, three sisters, Elsie Hitt, Edith Miller, and Eleanor Boyer. Survivors include, son, Eric (Elaine) Sampson of De Kalb, MO, daughter, Pamela (Kenny) Koscielny of Overland Park, KS, granddaughter, Kim (Mark) Heckman, 3 great grandchildren; Noah, Chloe, and Trey, two brothers, Ben Frakes of St. Joseph, MO, and Joe (Elaine) Frakes of Atchison, KS, two sisters, Ruby Panigot of Lewiston, ID, and Irma (Francis) Gill of Lubbock, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Saturday, with a funeral service to follow starting at 11:00 am, on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at DeKalb Christian Church, with Pastor's David Jordan, and Dan Muter officiating. Interment will be at the Westlawn Cemetery .
