In 1870 Frank (a farmer laborer) and his five siblings was living with his parents at Browntown Township, Davidson County, North Carolina.
Frank married first to Agusta (as listed on her grave marker, though I usually see it as Augusta) V. (Victoria?) H. Welch (1852-1879) on 08 Jan 1874 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Frank and Agusta were thought to be the parents of three known children, namely:
1. William M. Rothrock (1874-1877)
2. Charles Ross Rothrock (1875-1930)
3. Emma J. Rothrock Moore (1876-1907)
Some sources believe that Charles (went by Charlie) and Emma were actually the children (born out of wedlock) of Frank's younger sister Nancy Louisa Rothrock (1853-1899). In 1880 the widower Frank (a farmer laborer), and children Charlie and Emma, were living with Frank's parents and three of his siblings (including Nancy) at Abbotts Creek Township, Davidson County, North Carolina. It is believed that Charlie and Emma were raised by Frank so I will list them in his family. Charles may actually be the son of a Mr. Ross (Charles Ross) and he took the rothrock surname.
Shortly after the time of the 1880 census Frank remarried to Mary Jane (went by Jane, some records list her as Martha Jane) Mendenhall (1853-1928) on 15 Feb 1880 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Frank and Jane were the parents of five children, of whom four have been identified, namely:
4. Joseph Beeson Rothrock (1883-1940)
5. John Carmie (went by Carmi or Carmie) Benjamin Rothrock (1886-1955)
6. Robah (Roby) Decatur Rothrock (1888-1963)
7. Elmer Harrison Rothrock (1892-1969)
In 1900 Frank (a farmer), Jane, Joseph, Carmie, Roby and Elmer were living at Abbotts Creek Township, Davidson County, North Carolina. Jane said she was the mother of five, four living. Thus I assume a child that died young is missing from the above listing.
We are very fortunate to have links to Frank's parents, both of his known wives, all of his seven known children, and all of his five known siblings as included below.
