Joseph Alma "Joe" Robinson, 88, of Jerome, passed away July 20, 2006, at his home of natural causes.

He was born Feb. 28, 1918, in Garfield, Idaho, the son of Joseph William Robinson and Ella Marie Silcock Robinson.

He was raised in Garfield and Ucon until 1926, when his family moved to Burley, and in 1934, he settled in Jerome.

Joe enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during World War II.

He married Frances Delia Flick on Dec. 22, 1940, in Jerome, Idaho.

He spent his working life as a farmer, carpenter and auto parts salesman.

Joe was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Joe enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and carpentry. Mostly he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Joe is survived by his children, Carolinn (Vernon) Gaffner of Idaho Falls, Allen Lee (Brenda) Robinson of American Falls and David Lewis (Dar Hayes) Robinson of )J Jerome; three sisters, Nina Peterson of Jerome, Berniece Couch of Jerome and Valnetta (Jim) Cain of Luning, Nev.; three brothers, George Robinson of Salt Lake City, Junior (Cheryl) Robinson of Portland, Ore., and Robert (Meralyn) Robinson of Jerome; sister-in-law, Helen Jackson of Jerome; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; his parents; one brother; two sisters; and his son, Charles "Skip" Robinson.
