May Lindsay Woodward, 95 of Tyler, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in Tyler. She was born May 28, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Thomas and Alicia Weir Lindsay. Since the 5th grade May loved poetry and continued writing throughout her life. Her children published a compilation of her work in a book entitled "Celebrate My Life". She enjoyed many experiences in her life, including travel, camping and working as a supervisor for the Long Beach Unified School District, Recreation Department, where she was responsible for over 52 schools. She taught arts, crafts, music, drama and sports. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Troup. Preceding her in death were her husband, Earl Woodward and five siblings.

Survivors include her son, Earl Thomas "Woody" Woodward and wife, Karen of Lindale; a daughter, Darlyne May Woodward of Carbondale, Colo; three grandchildren, Liberty Woodward of Lindale, Charity Woodward Drummond and husband, David of Hallsville and Jessica Amparon and husband, Lowell of Bullard; five great-grandchildren, Peyton, Kamen, Dyllan, Reagan and Ryder.
