James H. Engle, Resident Here 38 Years, Passed Away

James H. Engle, retired real estate dealer, and resident of Spencer for the past 38 years, died suddenly Friday at 10:30 a.m. at his home, 293 West Third street, from apoplexy. He was 71 years, three months and three days of age.

Memorial services were held on Sunday at the Jones funeral home with the Rev. B.J. Trickey, pastor of the Congregational church, officiating. He was interred in Riverside cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Engle beside his widow and two sons, F.F. Engle, 166 East Third street, and J.H. Engle, Jr., also of Spencer, and four grandchildren.

He was born at Sweetwater, Ill., March 6, 1862. February 26, 1884, he was united in marriage with Miss Elnora Lynch at Bowling Green, Mo. The family lived at Ida Grove for about ten years, and for the past 38 years have made Spencer their residence.
