Wayne Satern, age 78, of St. James died on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home in St. James, MN. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery.Wayne Lloyd Satern was born May 9, 1937, the son of Thorston and Vivian (Sloan) Satern in West Bend, Iowa.Wayne was a retired police officer and served on the Estherville Police Department for twenty years. Wayne moved to St. James in 2010 where he was united in marriage to Bev (Engelking) Miller. Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman. He competed nationwide in long range gun shooting. Wayne was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Wayne is survived by his wife, Bev, daughter, Sue (Ed) Carter, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother Ronnie, sisters, Gen, Eileen, and Juanita, five stepchildren and their families, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, and many other relatives and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Wade, grandson, Kyle, and two brothers.
