Julia Ann "Beulah" Jones was the daughter of Zebedee Brooks and Amy (Anna Frances) Six. in 1870 Julia was living with her parents and two sisters, Alice J and Minnie M in Athens, Athens, Ohio where her father Zebedee worked in a brickyard. Beulah's parents divorced. In 1880 Father Zebedee was living in York with his new wife Mary (niece of Amy) working as a carpenter. Her mother Amy was living alone in 1880. Amy married Frank Risley in 1881 and then Eskel Price in 1883.

Beulah married Charles Kettell, a coal miner. on 12 October 1879 in Athens County. Beulah's father applied for the license as she was according to the application, sixteen years of age. They were the parents of 11 children, including Charles, Amy, Pearl, May, Maud, William, Harry, George, Gladys or Beulah (1898-bef 1910), Fred (Aug 1900-bef 1910) and Florence.

In 1880, newly married Charles and Beulah lived in York Township where Charles weighed coal.

In 1900 Charles, Beulah and their nine children were living in York Township. Beulah reported she that all of her children were still living. Charles was a coal miner.

In 1910 Beulah was living in York Township with four of her children. She reported that she was the mother of 11 children, 8 of whom were still living. Charles was recorded at the home of their son, Pearl.

Charles died in 1911 and Pearl was the informant on his death record. Beulah was not located on the 1920 census.

In 1930 Beulah and youngest daughter Florence were living in Nelsonville, Ohio where Beulah was running a rooming house. She had one lodger, Ellis Jones.

Beulah married Ellis Jones in Athens County on 24 March 1934. Ellis said he was a widower and had been married to Beulah's cousin Alice.

In 1940 Ellis and Beulah were living on High Street in Nelsonville. No occupation was given for Ellis.
