Born ca. 1829, she is believed to be the second wife of Alfred Moses Ayers. Their children were believed to be James B., Hattie and Robert Lee Ayers.

It would seem, according to sources, that Alfred Moses Ayers had two wives: Nancy A. Owens and Lucinda Elizabeth "Betty" O'Barr. If this is the case, then Alfred's first wife, Nancy, must have died before 1860 because the 1860 census shows Alfred's wife as Elizabeth Ayers.

Alfred & Betty O'Barr Ayers were the parents listed in the obituary for Hiram Newton Ayers. However, a grave marker at Reed Creek Church shows H. Newt Ayers's parents to be Alfred M. & Nancy A. Ayers. Betty Ayers was most probably the step-mother of Hiram Newton Ayers.

The death record for John Judson Ayers, who died in Franklin County, Alabama, gives his mother as Mandy Owens. Another source gives John Judson's mother as Nancy A. Owens. (Perhaps the initial "A" is for Amanda.)

The obituary for Robert Lee Ayers gives his parents as Alfred and Elizabeth Owens Ayers.

(It would seem, from the sources I have found, that Alfred Moses Ayers probably married, first, Nancy A. Owens and had two children: Hiram Newton and John Judson Ayers. Then he married, second, Lucinda Elizabeth O'Barr (not to be confused with Eliza Elizabeth O'Barr who married a Jedediah Ayers in 1842 in Franklin Co., GA) about 1859-1860, and they had children: James B., Hattie and Robert Lee Ayers. Elizabeth is the wife listed with Alfred on the 1860 census in Anderson County, South Carolina, and the 1870 and 1880 censuses in Hart County, Georgia. - Bobbie O'Barr)
