Guy F. Ashbrook, age 67, of the Townview Heights section of Rt. 1, Lebanon, Virginia was pronounced dead on arrival at Russell County Medical Center Friday, October 30,1987 following a lengthy illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Russell County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Raleigh and Mae Jones Ashbrook.

He was a retired foreman for the Virginia Department of Highways and a member and past president of Russell County Emergency Radio. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emily Fields Ashbrook of the home; two sons, James R. Ashbrook of Martinsville, Virginia and Eddy Ashbrook of Lebanon; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Harrison of Chesapeake, Virginia ; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Lebanon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Burton and the Rev. Robert Rhinehart officiating.

Interment followed in West Hill Cemetery in Lebanon. Pallbearers were Don Scales, Terry Carter, Jerry Jonas, Ellwood Garrett, Giles Carter, June Puckett, Kermit Stallard, James Buchanan and Richard Candler. Honorary pallbearers were employees of State Highway Department, members of Russell County Emergency Radio, Dr. Sam Ketron and employees of Russell County Ambulance Service. Lebanon Funeral Home was in charge.
