Born on January 3, 1939, in Bamberg, SC, daughter of the late William McCormick Walter and Sarah Jane Murphy Walter; wife of John Ed Tillotson.
Attended Columbia College, was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Fackler, AL, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Other survivors include her daughter, Kimberly Fairey Kearns (Jim); son, Virgil Smoak Fairey, Jr. (Stacey); stepdaughter, Tammy Denise Hooper (Tom); and six grandchildren.
Predeceased by a sister, Jane Walter Mason (1942–2003)
Visitation was from 12:00 - 1:45 PM on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at Floyds Greenlawn Chapel.
Memorial services followed at 2:00 PM at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Steve Pickle.
Memorials could be made to the American Cancer Society, Greenville, SC; or to Interim Hospice, Spartanburg, SC.
