Mrs. Frances Amberson Freeman, age 97, of 505 N. Fifth Ave., Rome, GA, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in a local health care facility.
A native of Calhoun County, Alabama, Mrs. Freeman was born April 23,1918, daughter of the late James Davis Amberson and Emma Victoria Casey Amberson.
She had been a resident of Rome for over 70 years and prior to her retirement was employed at Bracketts Pharmacy in Rome. Mrs. Freeman was a member of the First Christian Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Felton O. Freeman, a daughter Mrs. Lynne Freeman Morrill, three sisters, Lennie Amberson, Amy Amberson, Annie Bell Amberson and a nephew, Billy Howell.
Survivors include two nephews, William Amberson and Charles Howell; two nieces, Ann Stewart and Glenda West; and a special family friend Jean Early.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with the Rev. Horace Stewart and the Rev. Craig McDonald officiating. Interment followed in the East View Cemetery.
The family received friends at Daniel's Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 p.m until 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
