Wm. S. Bradford was born in White county, Tenn., May 18, 1835, and departed this life at Fay, Okla., June 30, 1909, age 74 years, 1 month and 12 days.

Mr. Bradford moved to Platte county, Missouri, Oct. 18, 1842, then to De Kalb county, May 1, 1844. Was married to Mary Jane Collier, April 18, 1857, lived a happy life until his wife was taken from him, Sept. 19, 1862. To this union were born three children, Jacob, Wm. and John.

Mr. Bradford was a soldier. He enlisted in Co. H, 1st regiment of cavalry, M. S. M. on the first day of May, 1863, and was honorably discharged Dec. 23, 1864.

He was again married to Polly Ann Tyler, April 9, 1865. He moved to Butler county, Kansas, April 13, 1872. To this union were born eight children, Wilson, Jane, Daniel, George and Nelson Bradford and Mrs. Elizabeth Morlan, Mrs. Mary Morlan and Mrs. Effa Rice, all of whom survive him except the little daughter, Jane.

Brother Bradford became a member of the Christian church at the age of 15 years and lived a consistent life until his death.

His passing was peaceful and quiet as befits a quiet peaceful, noble life. He was visiting at one of his sons, Daniel Bradford, at Fay, Oklahoma, at the time. They had eaten supper and had passed the evening quietly sitting in their rocking chairs. When last he came it was found that his spirit had flown, but so peaceful was its passing that they had not known at what time the call came.

The remains were brought to Latham Friday night. Funeral services were held at the Christian church conducted by Elder Z. Mitchell, followed by interment in the Latham cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved family.
