LIBERAL, Mo. — Rosa Owen, 84, Liberal, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Carmel Medical Center of Pittsburg, Kan., where she was a patient 15 days after a one-year illness.

Born Oct. 13, 1895, in Ava, Mrs. Owen was a longtime resident of Liberal and belonged to the Liberal Baptist Church.

She married Luke J. Owen July 3, 1920. He died April 22, 1968.

Survivors include two sons, Oscar Owen and Robert Owen, both of Pittsburg; four daughters, Mrs. Opal Cook and Mrs. Vivian McWilliams, both of Pittsburg, Mrs. Anna Lee Tadlock, Centerville, Ohio, and Miss Norene Owen, Liberal; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lohmeyer-Konantz Funeral Home of Lamar. The Rev. Charles Talbott will officiate, and burial will be in the Liberal City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

LIBERAL, Mo. - Luke J. Owens, 82, of Liberal, died in a Nevada hospital at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon. He had been a patient three weeks.

He was born March 9, 1886, in Greenfield, Mo.

He was a retired section foreman for the Frisco Railroad and had lived in Liberal since 1916.

He was a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Rosa Owen of the home; two sons, Oscar Owen and Robert Owen, both of Pittsburg, Kan.; four daughters, Mrs. Anna Lee Tadlock of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Vivian McWilliams and Mrs. Opal Cook, both of Pittsburg, and Miss Norene Owen of the home.

Services will be announced by Bruce-Konantz funeral home of Lamar.
