2005 obituary. FREEPORT - Weston Grover, 85, of North Yarmouth passed away on Oct. 5, 2005 at Hawthorne House. Born on June 22, 1920 in Leeds to James Weston and Alice (Huff) Grover. Weston settled in North Yarmouth at the age of 22 when his family opened a dairy farm on Sligo Road. Weston's true love was working on his farm, which he did his entire life, being away from the farm only one night during this time. Weston cared for up to 50 head of Holsteins providing milk for Oakhurst Dairy. He was a man of many talents maintaining all electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work that needed to be done on the farm. Life was not always easy for Weston surviving a horrible horse accident when he was in his 30s that almost took his arm. Weston was a very proud and neat man creating and always maintaining his fields for his cows to graze in. He maintained those fields with the only tractor worthy of Weston's use, a John Deere. When Weston was not in the fields or tending to his Holsteins you could probably have found him reading. In 2004, the town of North Yarmouth talked about his farm as being one of the three largest dairy farms in North Yarmouth. . Weston was predeceased by sisters, Ruth Grover, Alma Grover, and June Smyth; as well as brothers, Lincoln Grover, Russel Grover, Linwood Grover, and Sherman Grover. A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in North Yarmouth.
