Ms. Nantz was a retired school music teacher and church organist. She was born in Hartford, Arkansas in 1923 and was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist College and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
She returned to teach in Hartford, Alma and Fort Smith, first choral music and later orchestra. Upon her retirement, she moved to Houston, Texas to be closer to family.
Ms. Nantz was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son: James Fowler Nantz; and 1 sister: Jeania Moore Burns.
Ms. Nantz is survived by 1 son: Parker Nantz and his wife: Faye of Mountainburg, Arkansas; 2 granddaughters: Crystal Tye and husband, Reggie; and Summer Simonson and husband, Ronald all of Houston, Texas; 2 great-grandchildren: Benjamin and London Tye; and 2 step great-grandchildren: Margaret Cuellar and Ronnie Simonson; other relatives and friends.
A graveside service was held on Saturday morning, October 24 at Hartford Memorial Park, in Hartford, Arkansas.
