SALMON PULISFER ANNIS was born June 10, 1810 at Albany Orlean County, Vermont; the son of Moses Annis and Mary (Hunt) Annis; married May 19, 1840, Sarah Hunt (1820-1897). They had four children.
Salmon was a veteran of the Civil War, and served as a Private in Company "E" 11th Vermont Infantry. He enlisted on July 28, 1862 and was transferred to the V.R.C (Veteran Reserve Corps) on December 24, 1863, and mustered out on June 26, 1865. Salmon was residing at Brookfield, Vermont at the time of his enlistment, and removed his family to Rockbridge, WI about 1866. Salmon is buried at Center cemetery, Richland Center, Wisconsin.
