ACKER
Sunday morning at 7 o’clock at his farm home north of Camp Douglas, occurred the sudden death of James B. Acker. He had contracted a cold which resulted in his death.
J. B. Acker was born in Walworth county, town of LaFayette, September 6th, 1852. He was the second son of J. C. Acker, who for 40 years resided on his farm north-east of Elkhorn. For 12 years the deceased has been a resident of Camp Douglas having resided before that in Jefferson and in Walworth counties.
Mr. Acker had grieved over the loss of his only son, George, last October. He leaves a devoted wife who mourns his loss, also three daughters, Eva May, Grace J. and Clarabel, and 2 little grandsons, Ben G. and Dean D.
Mr. Acker was an active member of the Farmers’ Club and a most able man in his community.
Endowed with a cheerful happy and affectionate disposition, he was beloved in his home and among his associates. The heartfelt sympathy of a host of friends goes out to the family who are thus deprived of a loving husband and father.
