Early Life: Gladys was born February 13, 1930, in her family cabin located in Huntington, Utah, to Cyril McArthur and Doratha Ardella Day McArthur. She was a great addition to the family. Gladys’ sister told her that she was their, “little glad girl, and brought joy” to their lives.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Gladys was a feisty good-natured woman. She was actively involved in her education and enjoyed playing percussion instruments. Gladys set the example for her posterity by being the Vice-President of the No Swearing Club as a youth. Gladys was married on December 11, 1953, to Thomas Franklin Larson. They lived in West Mountain where together, they ran a dairy farm and raised three kids. Gladys enjoyed traveling with Tom; they went on many trips together, but their favorite spot was Lake Powell where they could fish and ski. Gladys was a member and past President of the American Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was honored to be a part of both organizations and served them well. She was also involved in her church serving in the Primary and Young Women organizations. Gladys Joyce McArthur Larson returned to live with our Father in Heaven the morning of October 15, 2015. She was 85.
Survived By: Her three children: Barrie Larson (Dawna), Guy Larson (SueAnn), and Christy Metz (Hoby); 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents; brother, Shirl; sister, Thelma; and her husband, Tom.
