Suzanne Concannon Cassidy, 89, wife of the late Frank D. Cassidy, died Saturday, October 17, 2015. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Martin J. and Anne Donnelly Concannon. At her passing she was the executive director of the Center for the Written Word at Cardome Center, which she founded in 2008. In 1974, she started Bluegrass Woman Magazine, a magazine for the women of central Kentucky. And in 1985 she founded Bluegrass Magazine, which covered everything from downtown Lexington development to where to find the best hot brown. She was a graduate of Cardome Academy and the University of Kentucky, and was a member of the National Society of Arts and Letters and St. Paul Catholic Church. She was a woman of big ideas and great optimism.

Survivors are four children, Anne Cassidy Capehart (Tom), Dr. Ellen Cassidy (Dr. Eric Sundel), Edward Drew Cassidy (Brenda) and Phillip Cassidy; a sister, Mary McNeese; seven granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Jessamine County, Kentucky.
