Mrs. Herb Bower, 20, Route 1, Sequim, was instantly killed at 4:40pm Monday when the truck she was driving overturned on the Lost Mountain Road, pinning her beneath the truck.
State Pstrolman Howard Hurd said, as near as he was able to determine cause of the accident, Mrs. Bower was about a half-mile south on the Lost Mountain Road and she passed another car, driven by A.W. Echterkamp, She evidently applied her brakes and the wheels locked, making her loose all control of the truck, which overturned in the ditch. Mrs. Bower was either thrown or attempted to jump from the truck cab as the truck rolled over and was pinned underneath.
Mrs.Bower, the former Irma Florance Poulson, was born July 2, 1921, at Lostine, Oregon. She attended school at Sequim, graduating from HighSchool in 1936, and was married toHerbert Bower November 17, 1937, in Port Angeles. She lived in the vicinity of Sequim 14 years and was a member of Calvary Presbyterian church at that town.
Surviving relatives in addition to the husband include two small children, sharon Lee and Terry Allen; her parents Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Poulson, Carlsborg; one sister, Donna Jean Poulson, Carlsborg; and four brothers, Raymond Poulson, Nebraska; Joe H. Poulson, Seattle, Eldon and Vern Poulson, Carlsborg.
