BURLEY - Don B. Wrigley, 85, of Burley, passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at Parke View Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Don was born Nov. 19, 1929, in Burley, Idaho, the son of Wilford and Verla (Banner) Wrigley. He received his education in Burley and graduated from Burley High School. He then attended and completed his education at Utah State University. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served honorably in the United States Army being stationed in Whittier, Alaska. He married his eternal companion, Mavis Margaret Hobson, on Sept. 25, 1950, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Don was a well-known, lifelong farmer and rancher. He continued on the legacy the Wrigley family created by continuing the family operation in the View Area of Burley. He worked hard to provide for his family and instilled in them the value of hard-work, honesty, and integrity.

He was the president of the View Cemetery Board, and was a committee member of the ASCS and Labor Boards.

Don was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served diligently in various callings including the Young Mens and Sunday School, was dance director and sports director for many years, and enjoyed being a home teacher. However, Don's favorite responsibility was working as a nursery leader.

He enjoyed the outdoors, was a good baseball player, and liked to hunt and fish. But, his favorite past time was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a gentle and supportive grandfather.

Don is survived by the love of his life, Mavis Wrigley of Burley; his children, Rhonda Mavis (Mark) Holmstead of Twin Falls, Brenda Mary (Gene) Joos of Idaho Falls, Verla Kaye (Mark) Darrington of Declo, Rick Don (Edith) Wrigley and Tom (JaNiel) Wrigley all of Burley, and Melanie Lynne (Larry) Nelson of Idaho Falls; 25 grandchildren; 54, plus one to be delivered, great-grandchildren; his siblings, Rex B. (Shirlene) Wrigley of Delta Junction, Alaska, and Marva (Larry) Christensen and Gale B. (Beth) Wrigley all of Burley; and a sister-in-law, Linda Wrigley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jaye B. Wrigley and his wife, Delsa; a granddaughter, Cassie Jo Wrigley; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Joos, Adelyn Darrington, and Mavi Jo Scoffield.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the View LDS Church, 490 E. 550 S., of Burley, with Bishop Michael Searle officiating. Burial will be in the View Cemetery with military rites provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
