Benjamin was the son of Henry Glaze and Sarah Green-Glaze. He was married to Catharine Bearnes-Glaze. They were originally from Licking County, Ohio and were the parents of Erastus D, Henry, John, George P, William B, Eliza and Frank Glaze.

Major H. S. Glaze has returned from Iowa, where he went several weeks ago to attend the bedside of his father, whose death occurred at an advanced age, last week [Apr 17, 1895].
