Alanson J. Barnes, 87, died at home in New Port Richey, Fl, where he had resided for ten years. He was the oldest of four sons, of Mason Barnes.

Sgt Barnes was a veteran of the Civil War, enlisting at the age of 18. He was a member of the 104th New York Volunteers. He was wounded twice.

He married Mrs. May Worthington Shaw on May 1, 1908.

Cause: Bronchial pneumonia and other complications.
