Mary Madeline Pletcher Bartimus Lantz, 100 years and 9 days old, passed away at 12:30 pm Friday October 16, 2015 in her lifelong home in the Black Oak Community near Deavertown.

Born October 7, 1915 at the very home she still lived in, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nora Weller Pletcher.

Madeline grew up on the Pletcher Farm and was a member of the very first graduating class from Deavertown High School. She played piano for many school functions and spent life on the farm as a homemaker.

Madeline is survived by her loving daughter, Penny (Larry) Penrod, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren ; special friends –whom she treated as grandchildren Joe and Brenda Smith and faithful fur companion, Peanut.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth Lee Bartimus and her second husband, Pearl A. Lantz; children and in-laws, Janet (John) Reedy and Robert L. (Joyce) Bartimus; big brother, and inspiration to Madeline, Carl Pletcher.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9pm at ROSS-FRASH FUNERAL HOME,207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where funeral services will be held Thursday October 22 at 1pm with Carlton Schooley officiating.

Burial will follow in Black Oak Cemetery next to her home place.

The family would like to express special thanks to the following that took great compassionate and loving care of mom; Hospice, Patty Crooks, Mary McNeal, Brenda Smith and her caregivers from Passport, Courtney Poling and Sara Filkins.
