Rebecca was the daughter of Michael Brenenstall and Ruby/Rheuby Freeman. The Brenenstall family arrived in Kendall Co. Illinois in 1844, where Michael died and then Rheuby and family moved to LaSalle Co.Illinois by 1850. Then Rebecca's mother and siblings moved to Lee, Fulton Co. Illinois by 1860.
Rebecca age 17 married her next door neighbor James Wood age 36 on Feb. 13,1851 Earlville, LaSalle Co. Illinois.
James's wife Margaret Graff-Wood had just died on Novemeber 14,1850 just eight days before their son Boyd died on Nov 22, 1850, the 1850 census was just taken on Nov 20th list both Maragret and Boyd.
