William Harold Bohannon Sr., 73, Holton, died Monday, July 10, 1995 at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka.
He was born May 16, 1922 in Soldier, the son of William Edgar and Ruth Irene Hill Bohannon. He grew up in the Pleasant Grove community and graduated from Wetmore High School in 1940. He lived most of his life in Holton.
He farmed for 10 years. He worked at Goodyear for three years and at Morlan's Furniture in Holton for several years. He owned and operated the Mobile service station and car wash in Holton for 35 years.
He was a past member of the Holton Lions Club and attended the First Baptist Church in Holton.
He was married to Bernadine B. Driscoll on Oct. 18, 1941 in Holton. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, William Harold Bohannon Jr., Holton, Donald E. Bohannon, Lyndon and Gregory D. Bohannon, Olathe; a daughter, Linda M. Fisher, Hoyt; a brother, Paul Bohannon, Holton; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 13 at Mercer Funeral Home, Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Holton in care of the Denison State Bank in Holton, 66436.
