Ronald Lee Bair, 80, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away at home October 12, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving family as he slowly succumbed to Cancer and slipped into the loving arms of our Lord. Ron was born March 13, 1935 in Keswick, Iowa. He married his high school sweetheart Wanda. The two of them were inseparable until she passed away just seven months ago. He was a hard working man who was in sales for 33 years at Sears. Ron was a strong, kind, gentle, humble man who gave selflessly to others. He had a great sense of humor and his lifelong love for his wife should be a model for how we treat each other. His greatest joys were spending time with family, hunting, fishing, Hawkeye sports, and gardening. As we commemorate his life, we celebrate the legacy he has left us. His legacy is in his family and his friends, and in the people that he has helped and the lives he has touched. To carry on his spirit is his daughter Kim Bair, son Bret Bair, granddaughters Callie Phillips ( Justin) and Caitlin Berry (Josh), and great grandson Noah Berry. Also left too morn are his siblings Ted Bair (Jane), Dean Hekel( Barbara), Patty Newland (Steve), Kent Hekel (Tana), Karen Harvey (Rick). He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Wanda, His mother Beatrice Hekel, Stepfather R.J. Hekel, Birth father Paul Bair, and a sister Bernice Ackley (Albert Dale, aka“Ham“).
