Katherine Ginter Jones, 86, of Jones Road, Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on January 2, 1929 the daughter of the late Alfred and Martha Williams Ginter. She was a farmer and homemaker, a member of the Owingsville First Christian Church and loved cooking, gardening and her flowers. She was the widow of Willlie M. Jones.
She is survived by Teresa (Kevin) Swartz of Owingsville, KY; four grandchildren, Heather Holland of Mt. Sterling, Aimee (Michael) Spence of Mt. Sterling, Joseph Swartz and Jordan Swartz of Owingsville, KY; eight great grandchildren, Kelsey Holland, Andrew Holland, Aaron Holland, Aiden Holland, A. J. Hunt, Shelby Spence, Ryan Spence and Tyler Staton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy Ginter, Charlie Ginter, Clay Ginter and William Ginter; and two sisters, Betty Ginter and Jane Ginter.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Owingsville First Christian Church with Rev. Lowell Rice and Marshall Coyle officiating and burial following in the Preston-Ginter Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday evening from 6-9 pm at the Owingsville First Christian Church. Pallbearers will be Kelsey Holland, Andrew Holland, Dale Holland, Michael Spence, Gene Shields and Wille Ritchie. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Vernon Ginter, Bill Ritchie, Jamie Shields, Ricky Coyle, Doug Stone, Aaron Holland, Aiden Holland, Robbie Griffith, and Chester “Wool” Ginter. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Owingsville First Christian Church, 11 East Main St., Owingsville, KY 40360. Taul Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
