Walter H. Doborwicz, age 91, of Shelton, entered into rest on Thursday July 2, 2015 in Gardner Heights Health Care Center. He was the devoted husband of the late Michelina (Pisacane) Doborwicz. He was born in Ansonia on January 9,1924, son of the late Victor and Mary (Bogdziewicz) Doborwicz, and was a resident of Shelton for most of his life. After graduating High School, Water entered the US Navy during WW II. He was a Torpedoman's Mate Third Class serving on the Submarine USS Beam and USS Blowers in the Pacific Theater. He was employed for over 29 years at the former BF Goodrich and then 16 years at Sikorsky Aircraft before his retirement. He is the beloved father of Robert Doborwicz and his fiance Mary Critchett and Richard Doborwicz and his wife Isobel, proud grandfather of six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Stanley and three sisters, Helen, Mary, and Ann. Friends may call on Monday July 6, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home,390 River Rd. Shelton. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday July 7, 2015 at 10:00 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave. Shelton.
