Vera Mae Lasater Frailicks, 91, loving mother, grandmother and friend to all she met entered into Glory on Wednesday, October 14, 2015.
Vera Mae was born to Frank and Callie (McCurdy) Lasater on September 16, 1924 in Bailey, Texas. She married Roy Frailicks on February 16, 1946. Her reputation as a cook was equaled only by her love for her Lord, Jesus Christ. From chocolate pie, cornbread dressing, to hamburger bun pizzas and fried chicken, she lovingly and graciously shared her kitchen.
She lived by the Holy Scriptures and believed; “Only one life, twill soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last.” -- CT Studd.
Vera was preceded in death by husband Roy, her parents, and her brothers Ray and J.W. (Dub) Lasater.
Survivors: Daughter and Son-in-Law, Sue and Gerry Measles, granddaughters Dixie (Russell) and Amyjo, beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be John Simpson, George Charles, Roy Floyd, Dolton Ownes, Denton Jones and Ray Campbell. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ruby and Alvin Lane, Ruth and Lou Walters, and the Friday Lunch Bunch Ladies.
Service will be Saturday, October 17 at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home. Bro. Chase Hinson will officiate; interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery. Visitation will be from Friday, October 16 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.
