August H. Adams, 88, of Riceville, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at NHC Health Care of Athens.
He was a son of the late Tom and Mae Bain Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Marie Simpson Adams; one daughter and son-in-law, Alisa and Sam Lawson of Riceville; one son and her fiancé, Allan Adams and Teresa McIntosh, both of Soddy-Daisy; three grandchildren and one spouse, Laura and Tony Lamb, Ben Lawson and Brandon Adams; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Kelsey DeSherlia; and a special cousin, Louise Self.
Graveside services were private and there was no visitation.
Ralph Buckner Funeral Home of Etowah was in charge of arrangements.
