Born in York on August 11, 1923, Doris was the daughter of the late Anthony A. and Mary A. (Feeser) Pfeiffer.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 950 W. Market St., York, with the Rev. Daniel Mitzel as celebrant. Viewings will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York, with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. by the Legion of Mary, and 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery.
Mrs. Althoff is survived by five children, Thomas L. Althoff and wife, Patricia of Dover, Richard A. Althoff, Christina M. Nuzum and husband, David, Mary K. Althoff and John A. Althoff, all of York; 11 grandchildren, Thomas Althoff, Jr., Chad Althoff, April Starner, Terri Barnes, Dianne Laudenslager, Amy Burns, Matthew Nuzum, Christopher Nuzum, Joshua Althoff, Tyler Althoff and Ashley Althoff; 18 great-grandchildren; three siblings, James Pfeiffer of Lancaster, Helen Crumbling and Elizabeth Fortney, both of York; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Rodney E. Althoff; three siblings, Jacqueline Price, Robert Pfeiffer and Gloria Price; and a great-grandaughter, Syndell Althoff.
