Violet Marie Kowal, 92, of Crossville, TN, passed away Oct. 2, 2015. She was born Aug. 11, 1923, in Crossville, the daughter of Joseph H. and Roxie W. Woody Rector. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by her son, Hubert Samuel Tollett and his wife, Evie, of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Mosetta Dixon and her husband, Danny, of Crossville; grandchildren, Vernon Dixon, Diana Perez, Jimmy Dixon, Casandra Burke and husband Jason, Daniel Dixon and his wife Michelle, John Tollett and his wife Ruth, Karen Eaves, Bob Scarbrough and his wife Tracey, and Charles Scarbrough and his wife Dawn; great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Kowal; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and R.G. Scarbrough; grandson, Mark Dixon; great grandson, Jesse Dixon; brothers, Joe Rector Jr., Tom Rector and H. Dee Rector; and sisters, Evaline Tabor Swafford, Betty Dille, Sarah Elkins and Sue Markland.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Kerley officiated, with burial in Woody Cemetery.
