Darrell R. Pickard, 89, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 7:40 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Montrose Health Center. He was born on November 3, 1925 in Dover, IA to Hiram & Lula Smith Pickard. He married Ruby Eaves on March 25, 1944 in Dallas City, IL. She preceded him in death in 1990. He then married Patricia L. Wolfe in January of 1997 in Fort Madison, IA. He was a farmer from the age of 13 and retired from the U.S. Post Office. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of Joy Baptist Church. He enjoyed golf, spending time in the sun and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, his first wife, 1-step son: Steven Hotop, 1-granddaughter: Karla Privia, 1-brother: Bill Pickard & 2-sisters: Helen Heisig & Betty Pickard.
