Charles E. Allstot, 72

Charles Edward Allstot, son of William K. and Nancy Allstot was born January 16, 1897 near Bennett, Nebr. and passed away August 19, 1951 at the Gilmore Rest Home in Council Bluffs, Ia. at the age of 72 years, seven months and three days. On July 17, 1949 he suffered a paralytic stroke from which he never fully recovered.

At the age of two years he moved with his parents to Defiance, Iowa where he lived the remainder of his life.

On October 27, 1906 he was united in marriage to Agnes Miller, youngest daughter of Jefferson and Samantha Miller. Two sons were born into this home.

He was received into the membership of the Evangelical United Brethern (sic) church in Defiance on July 27, 1949, and was baptized into the Christian faith.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Agnes Allstot of Defiance, two sons, Louie Edward of Missouri Valley; and Cecil Jay of Defiance; one sister, Mrs. Donna Holmes of Sutherland, Iowa; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, August 22 at 2:30 at the Evangelical United Brethern church at Defiance, with the Rev. Robert O. Dragoo officiating. Casket bearers were Kline Ely, Niel Holmes, James Tinnell, Dee Holmes, Dale Newman and Clarice Servoss
