Ray Edward Clark, 86 of Pierpont, was reunited with his beloved wife, Phyllis, on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at University Hospitals, Conneaut.

Ray was born in Parkersburg on Oct. 11, 1928, the son of Frank E. and Hazel (Jackson) Clark.

Ray has been an Ashtabula County resident since 1964, when he moved from West Virginia to Conneaut with his wife and then to Pierpont in 1973.

Ray and Phyllis Eaton were married on Sept. 30, 1950, and celebrated nearly sixty-four years of love and memories, prior to her death on Sept. 24, 2014. Ray missed Phyllis and is now with her forever, exactly where he wanted to be.

Ray was a thirty-five year employee of SCM, now Cristal. The friends he made while he worked SCM have remained friends in retirement.

Ray and Phyllis were members of the Ashtabula County Historical Society, and they both volunteered for the Blakeslee Log Cabin Days making apple butter to sell. Ray was his wife's partner in basket weaving. He split the white oak and made the handles and rims, while she wove the beautiful baskets. He enjoyed being outdoors. Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ray and Phyllis enjoyed traveling. They took trips with their friends and family, seeing the sites in the United States and participating in cruises.

Ray will be remembered for his work ethic, love of the outdoors and his love of family.

Ray is survived by his sons, Tim (Cheryl) Clark of Pierpont, David (Nancy) Clark of Orlando, Fla., and Edward (Cheryl) Clark of Knoxville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Kelli, Stephanie, Lindsey, Matthew, Gary, Erin, Brianne and Stephen; and four great grandchildren, JD, Gracie, Aoife and Kiernan.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; and his parents, Frank and Hazel Clark.

Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. today at Williams Ducro Funeral Home, 1071 SR 7 N, Pierpont.
