Charles Easton McReynolds was born in Jasper County in Iowa, April 27th, 1875, the son of Samuel and Mary McClintock McReynolds. He lived most of his life near Fairmount, (Fairmount is no longer there, it was then located on Iowa Hwy 163 between Monroe and Prairie City) and near by communities.
In 1889 he was united in marriage to Jamima Hevlin, and to this union 12 children were born.
An infant and 2 sons, Clyde and Carl, as well as his parents preceeded him in death.
He is survived by 9 children, Erma, Mrs. Alan Alloway, Newton; Earl of Prairie City, Grant of Runnells, Dale of Des Moines, Ruby, Mrs. Leo Rojohn, Ft. Dodge; Wilson of Newton, Sam of Des Moines; Dorris, Mrs. Noel Rojohn, Prairie City; Isabelle, Mrs. Everett Shaw, Des Moines.
He is also survived by 1 sister, Mrs. Dona McLain of Long Beach California, and 1 half-sister, Mrs. Frank Nearmeyer of Monroe. Also 35 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
His death, which came after a lingering illness of about 2 years will be marked with sorrow by whom he stood ready to help when the need arose.
