Mrs. Johnnell Spillers, 91, of Mexia, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015, in Mexia. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church in Mexia with Reverend Glenn McGuire officiating. Interment will follow in Mexia Cemetery.

Parents: the late John Calaway Liles and Sallie Talley Liles (Lyle)

Date Married: June 2, 1941, in Mexia

Work History: retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. as an operator after 32 years of service

Active In: volunteer work as a pink lady at the hospital, Red Cross volunteer

Interests: fishing with her husband

Additional Information: As her health declined, her main joy was taking care of her dogs who she treated more like children
