Rose was born July 24, 1941 in Numa, Iowa, the daughter of Truman and Avel (Stevens) Collins.
Rose worked for Golden Age Care Center, Easters, Hy-Vee Kitchen, and Centerville Schools. She enjoyed being out in the public. Her hobbies included Quilting, Scrapbooking, Genealogy, going to the movies, swimming and exercising, making school treats for the grandkids during the Holidays, gardening, hayrides with family, friends, and fellow church parishioners, and she loved animals, most of all squirrels. She was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Centerville. Moreover, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her children, Penny(Marty)Sias of Centerville, Meredith(Donald)Van Blaricom of Centerville; Seven grandchildren, Chazman(Jen)Sias of Centerville, Cassye(Katrina)Sias of Centerville, Shakira Sias of Centerville, Corey(Carly)Sias of Centerville, Abbie Kepner of Ottumwa, Addison Kepner of Centerville, Ashtyn Van Blaricom of Centerville, and a stepk-grandchild, Taite Knight of Bloomfield; two great grandchildren, Mylee Sias and Jasper Sias of Centerville; two honorary great grand-dogs Tony and Millie; two siblings, Peggy(Butch)Garr of Numa, and Billy(Sandra) Collins of Exline.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Truman and Avel, Ten siblings, Richard, Kenny, Dickie, Harold, Donnie, Linda, Delores, Tommy, Nancy, and Darlene Collins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, October 9, 2015 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Jeremy Croteau officiating. Burial will follow at the Exline Cemetery, Exline, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 12-8 pm Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, with Rose's family present from 5-8 pm. A luncheon will follow directly after the services at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church. A memorial has been established to Rose's family and may be mailed to Lange Funeral home 1900 South 18th Centerville, Iowa 52544.
