THURMAN W. JAMES

Thurman W. James, 75, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, died Thursday in Texarkana, Texas. He was born Jan. 24, 1919, in Broken Bow.

James had lived in this area for the past four years, moving from Salinas, Calif. He was an electrician for the Civil Service, a veteran of World War II and was affiliated with the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 6306 in Golden Shores, Ariz., and the Masonic Lodge in Fairbanks, Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Mae James, and a sister, Mable Burris.

Survivors include one brother, Gilbert James of Broken Bow; two sisters, Mary Virgi Hoover of Wadsworth, Nev. and Essie Mae Perry of Cottonwood, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Broken Bow with Rev. David Carroll officiating. Burial will be held at Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Salinas, Calif., under direction of Norwood, Coffey-Leonard Funeral Home of Broken Bow.
