Committal services for Martha Shireman Draper, 85, of Rushville, will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, in the Chapel of Memories at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at Rush Memorial Hospital, Rushville. The daughter of the late William F. and Florence E. Thomas Shireman, she was born April 4, 1925, in New Albany. She was a member of New Albany High School's graduating class of 1943, and Centenary United Methodist Church in New Albany. She retired in 1982 from Robinson Nugent Electronics Company as an office manager and purchaser. She moved from New Albany, in 2006, and lived in Plainfield at Roland's Retirement Community until Aug. 10, when she moved to Flat Rock River Lodge in Rushville. Survivors include her sister, Jeanne A. Powers, of Rushville; niece, Donna Rogers; and nephews, Bill Humphrey, John and Steve Doughty, and Tommy Rakes. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George F. Draper; and brother, William R. Shireman. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Centenary United Methodist Church, 309 E. Spring St., New Albany, 47150.
